First Time Central Heating Grants
If there is no central heating in your home and the property is heated by other means such as fires, central heating grants are available to cover all or part of the cost of having a new system installed.
Someone in the household will need to be receiving one of seventeen qualifying benefits. The property should also be privately owned or rented from a private landlord.
What Type of Heating System Qualifies?
Portable electric heaters, electric fires, gas fires, open fires, ducted warm air systems and electric storage heaters can all be replaced with a full central heating system.
It will also qualify for replacement if it is broken beyond economical repair.
All of these heating methods are inefficient and expensive so central heating grants are available to replace them with a more efficient heating system.
Someone living in the household must be claiming a benefit or tax credit. The property must also be privately owned.
