Who is eligible for a grant?
Anyone can apply — it’s free and there’s no obligation. Whether you qualify depends on your home, your heating and your household, such as benefits, income or your postcode. We check every scheme you could be entitled to for you.
Do I have to pay anything back?
No. Grants are not loans. If you qualify for full funding, there is nothing to repay. If your home only qualifies for partial funding, we will tell you before anything is agreed — there is never any obligation to go ahead.
Who pays for the upgrades?
Funding comes from government-backed schemes paid for by the UK's larger energy suppliers. They are required to improve the energy efficiency of UK homes, particularly for households most at risk of fuel poverty.
How much could a new boiler save me?
An old boiler may only run at around 65% efficiency, so roughly 35p of every pound you spend on gas is wasted. A modern A-rated boiler runs at 90%+, which could save you up to £300 a year depending on your home and usage.
I rent my home. Can I still apply?
Yes — private tenants can apply with their landlord's permission. We can talk your landlord through the process. Council and housing association tenants are usually covered by separate schemes.
How long does the whole process take?
We aim to call you within 24 hours of applying. Surveys are usually booked within a couple of weeks, and installation typically follows within a few weeks of your survey being approved.
